Kabo Council Chairman Removes Secretary, Four Appointees Over TMS Membership
The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Lawan Najume Kabo, has removed the council’s Secretary and four political appointees over their alleged membership of the Tinubu and Barau Mobilisation Group (TMS).
Those affected include the Secretary to the Local Government, Abba Salisu Mewake Garo, and four appointees: Hon. Ahmad Yusuf Chiroma Godiya, Councillor for Megafaka; Hon. Tanimu Garba Garo, Special Adviser on Education; and Yakubu Sa’adu Gammo, Special Adviser on Religious Affairs.
The affected officials were removed at an emergency meeting presided over by the council chairman on Monday evening.
Some of the affected councillors confirmed the development to newsmen, saying the decision was linked to their involvement with the TMS group, which promotes the political interests of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Barau I. Jibrin.
The development is the latest political move in Kabo Local Government Area, as various groups continue to mobilise support for political leaders ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
