NAHCON Warns Against Fraudulent Requests for 2027 Hajj Slots

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has warned intending pilgrims and Tour Operators against unauthorized persons demanding money with promises to guarantee or facilitate allocation of slots for the 2027 Hajj.

The Commission, in a public notice issued on Saturday, said it had received reports of unscrupulous individuals posing as agents or staff of NAHCON and contacting Tour Operating Companies and intending pilgrims to demand various sums of money for special Hajj slot allocations.

NAHCON said no individual, agent, Tour Operator or any other person had been authorized to demand or collect any payment, facilitation fee or additional money under the guise of guaranteeing or securing special Hajj slots.

According to the Commission, allocation of Hajj slots is strictly governed by approved procedures and carried out in line with its guidelines for the licensing of Tour Operators, which are already in the public domain.

It warned that anyone requesting money from Tour Operators or intending pilgrims in exchange for guaranteed slots was acting fraudulently and without the authority of the Commission.

The Commission urged members of the public who receive such requests to report them to the police or other relevant law enforcement agencies.

NAHCON further advised intending pilgrims to make payments only through officially designated channels, including State Pilgrims Welfare Agencies, designated Hajj Savings Banks and duly licensed Tour Operators.

It also urged pilgrims and Tour Operators to report unsolicited calls, messages or demands for additional payments connected with Hajj slot allocation.

The Commission said failure to meet the deadline for pilgrims’ data upload by Sept. 26, 2026, and complete remittance of payments by Dec. 2, 2026, would lead to forfeiture of allocated slots, irrespective of claims made by unauthorized individuals.

NAHCON reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent, fair and orderly 2027 Hajj exercise, urging the public to rely solely on official communications issued by the Commission.
