The formal launching of a political movement titled with the acronym, TNM – The national movement, coded in a seemingly likes figures 22.2.22, a day which would repeat itself, only in hundreds of years from now.
The movement was and continue to be spearheaded by the convener of the movement, the ex-Kano state governor, former minister of defence, Senator Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. The man who is said to be a northern political patriarch knows nothing with any iota of impossibilities when it comes to the issue of realizing his political dreams.
The National movement, as the name implies would serve as a guinea pig in the course of taming the tides of dysfunctional political climate ravaging the country.
As reportedly said, like widely seen and physically felt by many Nigerians, PDP and APC – the most powerful parties have nothing to promise to the citizenry in short-to-be-started political lobbying for public support.
The TNM, according to the pioneer stakeholders pointed out that the just-started crusade would assuage the Nigerian populace from the firm-gripped claws and jaws of poverty, insecurity and economic recession, pushing the nation to the brink of nowhere.
Even though, the movement is seen as a political platform for the marginalised, break-off and long-forgotten politicians squatting under the dustbin of irrelevance.
While others, saw the movement as part of the nationalistic crusade by the hard-baked politicians, engaging in a rescue mission to salvage the country from the tired legs and hands of the political opportunists.
By all accounts, the TNM under the able convernership of Senator, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has secured a mammoth membership from the part of the nation, particularly the southeast and some old-baked northern politicians.
And luckily enough, the movement started receiving the nods, coming even from the unanimous players waiting for their fate to be pronounced.
More especially, desperate politicians whose future is at stake for having no political platform to benefit from the national cake.
Well, it’s too early to be preemptive of where the chicken will roost its eggs.
But, the majority of Nigerians like the drowning men, who would even grab the sword’s blade to get survive by any means possible.
Keeping the good hope alive, constant prayer and pragmatic actions, are the only viable option to get Nigerians out of the woods.
We do hope that TNM if it turns out to be a political party, Nigerians do hope it will set the pace in transforming the yearning of impoverished and malnourished Nigerians.
