We will Train our Teachers to keep them update – SUBEB Chairman

Training and retraining of teachers has been identified as one of the best way to improve the capacity of teachers for effective service delivery.

The Executive Chairman State Universal Education Board,( SUBEB)Dr. Danlami Hayyo made this known while addressing the participants of refresher training of State Master Trainers on READING AND NUMERACY ACTIVITY (RANA) for primary three teachers organized by Kano State Universal Basic Education Board, under Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) Programme in conjunction with World Bank and Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC ABUJA) which took place at Manpower Development Institute Dutse, Jigawa State Capital .

Represented by the Permanent Commissioner one, Alhaji Kabiru Ahmed, the Executive Chairman said the training is aimed at training fifty Master Trainers selected from tertiary institutions, SUBEB and MDA’S under Kano state Ministry of Education, adding that the participants will step down the training to Primary three teachers at Local Government Level.

Dr. Hayyo added that, similar training was conducted for primary one and two teachers respectively, while the ongoing training was set to train primary three teachers on READING AND NUMERACY ACTIVITY ( RANA).

He said that the new RANA teaching methodology was designed to teach pupils in local languages and also was designed to attract learners interest through activities, including song, fun and short drama aimed at improving learners skills and understanding of the lessons.

While thanking the state Government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for attaching importance to Education sector, the Executive Chairman, charged the Participants to justify the expenses for the training through dedication and scarifies for optimum result.

In his welcome address the Lead person Result Area 2, the Director Quality Assarance, Alhaji Mustapha Madaki Huguma has said “all arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of step down training at local Government Education Authority.

Some participants at the training on behalf of their colleagues Malam Nasiru Abdullahi Kwalli and Dr. Jamila Abdullahi Aminu have expressed their happiness on the conduct of the training and then assured to put in their best for the successes of the training.
