A retired Customs Officer, ACG Bashir Abubakar has declared interest to Contest in the governorship election in Kaduna state under the flatform of the All Progressive Congress APC.
He made the declaration at the Kaduna township stadium in the present of his large supporters.
Alhaji Abubakar said his quest to contest for the office of Excutive governor of Kaduna state was bound out of many calls by many youth organizations, elders among other key individuals for him to join the polity of the state because of the roles he played in improving the lives of people.
Bashir Abubakar who is the Barden Kudun Zazzau promised to accord priority in securing the lives and property of people of the state if given the mandate.
The governorship aspirant also pledged to pay attention on human capital development and to improve the wellbeing of women, youth and children if he emerges as winner.
He vowed to empower women and the youth through skills acquisition.
“The world over today, skills matters. are more than certificates. If you have first, second and third degrees without skills, after graduation, you will remain at home”
“With skills, you are not only employed, but you create jobs,”
Alhaji Abubakar commended Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai for transforming the state through Urban Renewal Projects and if elected as governor of the State.
He however called on all other aspirants to step down for him.
The governorship aspirant also addressed state party executives at the APC state secretariat and appreciated the warm reception accorded him.
