Al-Mubarak Waqf Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, has distributed the sum of N2,900, 000 to eleven persons, a mosque, and an orphanage organization in Kano state.
Speaking during the distribution ceremony in Kano on Saturday, an official of the foundation, Dr Jamilu Mustapha Chedi said the beneficiaries of the zakat were selected by the sponsors of the zakat, expressing hope that the gesture would be expanded next year, so that many people would benefit from it.
He said the foundation was established in 2019, with the sole aim of assisting Muslim brothers and sisters.
He said supporting education, entrepreneurship and technology to Muslim communities are among the cardinal objectives of the foundation.

Chedi disclosed that the foundation is currently undergoing a project of providing a Jumu’ah mosque at Na’ibawa quarters along Zaria Road, in addition to an Information Technology training center for the youth in the state.
He added that the Foundation is working Assiduously in ensuring that the needy individuals were being assisted, aimed at to having a peaceful society.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion, Ado Mohammed said the foundation would not relent in providing similar gestures to the needy.
He urged wealthy individuals in the society to always extend good gestures to the needy in the society, geared toward alleviating the suffering of the masses.

Presenting a paper Titled “the importance of zakat and Sadaqa in addressing poverty” Dr. Muhammad Nur Abdullahi said giving out zakat and sadaqa (Alms )to the needy was very important, hence people should endeavor to emulate the teachings of prophet Muhammad SAW.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries Malam Junaidu Abubakar Ahmad commended the sponsor and the foundation for giving out the Zakat, he assured them that they would make judicious use of the money.
During the ceremony, cheques were handed over to the beneficiaries of the Zakat, and representatives of the mosque and the orphanage House.
