The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has distributed work tools to about 3,000 artisans in Zaria Federal Constituency to support their businesses and improve their economic well-being.
Tajudeen disclosed this during the flag-off of the distribution exercise in Zaria on Sunday.
He said the beneficiaries comprised tyre vulcanisers, auto mechanics, tailors, car wash operators, welders and women engaged in the sale of cold drinks.
The Speaker said the items distributed included deep freezers for 600 women, while 400 welders and 600 vulcanisers also benefited from the programme.
He explained that the initiative was part of programmes aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at supporting livelihoods and promoting economic empowerment.
Tajudeen urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the equipment to develop their businesses, support their families and improve their economic circumstances.
He described the initiative as one of the dividends of democracy being delivered to his constituency, with support from the Tinubu administration.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, pledging to use the equipment productively and train younger people in their respective trades.
