The vice chancellor of Yusif Maitama Sule University Kano professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa said the institution is achieving greater heights in terms of infrastructure.
Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa discloses this during an interview with journalists in Kano.
He said since his assumption on duty several buildings in the institution were been sponsored by Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), and the state government.
“The prominent infrastructure that was about to be completed is the one that houses our LLB students, ie the Bachelor of Law program, it was sponsored by TETFUND and the first phase has been completed already, and the second phase is now in progress”
The vice chancellor maintained that several projects are being educated by the Kano state government under the able leadership of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Khadimul Islam.
” We have two very large buildings on this main campus, which will house the faculty of science and faculty of Humanities, part of the projects have been completed and we have secured approval from the kano state ministry if works to furnished the completed areas and commence utilization”
Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa explained that the two buildings contain two hundred offices of academic staff, twenty laboratories, ten workshops, and six five hundred seater capacity theatres divided among the two gigantic buildings which would be used for teaching and training of our students “
“I’m happy to inform the general public that work has also reached an advanced level at the faculty of Humanities and we’ve written to the kano state government to hand over the faculty of humanities to the university so that we can commence the movement of our students from the city campus which is overcrowded to the main campus where we have this gigantic facility”
The vice chancellor noted that the management of the university will not relent in ensuring that both staff and students have a conducive working and learning environment.
