I join politics to serve humanity – Excellency Hajiya Safiya Salisu Abdul

A former Gubernatorial Candidate under the platform of the National Unity Party in 2019 Excellency Hajiya  Safiya Salisu Abdul says she was involved in politics to serve humanity, educate women, and empower the youths.

Excellency Hajiya Safiya Salisu Abdul stated this during an exclusive interview with time express Nigeria in Kano.

She said she join politics almost a decade ago to contribute her quota to the human development sector.

” I’ve understood that women were lacking behind in the political arena of this country, that’s why I got involved in politics”

“I faced a lot of challenges during my contest in 2019, from my immediate community, relatives, friends, and many people but I resisted because my mission is to serve my people,” said Excellency Safiya.

Excellency Safiya Abdul explained that she doesn’t belong to any political party at the moment, because she is still undergoing consultations with stakeholders and is willing to support any party that has the feel of the masses at heart.

“Politics of nowadays have changed from the previous political arena, now there is sanity and modernization in politics, politicians of this days are educated, have the foresight and are committed towards the development of there people, that’s why I join politics “

Hajiya Safiya Salisu Abdul maintained that her mission and vision were to have a society devoid of drug abuse, gender-based violence, and other social vices, stressing that it can only be achieved through the active participation of women. Politics, because they are pillars of community development
