The Asiwaju, the Jagaba, and the ex-Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the formidable, indispensable power-broker, former governor of Lagos state, who’s presently standing on the presidential candidacy podium of All Progressive Party APC, in his seeming desperation to clinch the baton of the Nigerian leadership from the hand of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a grass-to-grace politician who’s been seen by many as the man with a silver spoon, whose political veins were permeated with blue blood is now embarking on an ambitious sojourn to realize the dreams of his seemingly final ambition of a lifetime – to become the next President and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Nigeria.
The Jagaba, the man whose notable Southwestern politicians including the present Nigeria Vice President Yemi Osibanjo attached their greatness in the nation’s political space to the Asiwaju’s credit of age long political nurturing.
It is reportedly asserted that even his Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari wouldn’t deny the fact that the Jagaba is among the power brokers that contributed to being where he is today.
The speculated Septuagenarian, who at this time rolled up his shirt sleeves, embarking on all-out efforts to succeed in his supposed to his final lifetime ambitions, is seen as a rightful candidate to contest under the auspices of APC.
While on the other side of the coin, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose large followership held coinage phrases in Yoruba ” Emi Lo kan” which means “It is my turn”
Some months, closer to the 2023 general elections in the nation, the campaign trail of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima is about to commence an electioneering crusade around the country to market their manifesto.
But still, the dust raised by APC’s adopting a same faith ticket of Muslim-Muslim is yet not settled in the eyes of the nation’s Christian denomination.
Notwithstanding, the Jagaba is foisted to salvage the nation from the dripping blood jaws of insecurity and economic retrogression that stopped the cogs of Nigeria’s development from moving forward to the promised land.
Whatever the case might be, it is obvious that vying for any political office is like a gamble, is either to win or otherwise.
The Asiwaju, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his powerful political rival, the ex-custom boss are on the threshold of reaching joining the league of octogenarian senior citizens.
As reportedly said by the Jagaba, aspiring to rule Nigeria at this moment remains a lifetime ambition of his dream.
To cap it all, every race must produce a winner and the opposite.
It is too early to tell when the journey goes awry between the candidate seeking continuity and other opponents fighting to unseat the ruling party in the forthcoming general elections, will wait for 2027 to re-contest, or this contest of fighting for the Nigeria presidency will be the final of the Jagaba’s lifetime ambition?
