Hundreds of Supporters of Mahmud Ajiya (Dallatun Bauchi), who contested the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bauchi state have withdrawn their support after he defected to the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group under Ajiya’s Steering committee led by Alhaji Garba Kore made their position known during a Press Conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ Bauchi State Council.
Alhaji Garba Kore said Ajiya’s Steering Committee comprising Former Commissioners, House of Assembly Members, Local Council Chairmen, Retired Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Leaders of Civil Society Organisations, Youth and Women Groups among other had shifted their loyalty to the APC state Gubernatorial Candidate Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar Rtd.

He said though the group still have respect for Mahmoud Ajiya but resolved to remain in APC after the committee stakeholder’s meeting held on November 13, in Bauchi.
Mahmoud Ajiya is the second governorship aspirant to defect from the APC to the PDP, the first was Farouq Mustapha, who contested the APC ticket and lost, joined the PDP and has been made the Campaign Director-General for Governor Bala Mohammed re-election bid.
