Effective Data collection has been identified as key factor in formulating policies and Initiatives to address challenges militating reproductive health sector in Jigawa state.
The point was raised during a meeting with Reproductive Health coordinators of the 13 Local Government area of the state and other stakeholders held in Dutse capital
The meeting which was supported by
Challenge initiative (TCI) and Devcom has described the high rate of child and maternal death in the state as a source of concern and all stakeholders must work together to reduce it to minimal level.
In his speech at the meeting the TCI Program Manager in Jigawa state Mr, Ankale Kangude, said the essence of the meeting was to discuss and reviewed the challenges around data collection on reproductive health including Implementation of Child spacing/Family Planing.
He said strengthen Data collection and utilization for decision making and policy formulation will help in improving reproductive health and other public healthcare services delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the coordinators of , the Reproductive Health Coordinator Yankwashi local government Malama Amina Dauda Bala Yankwashi said, the issues deliberated on and decision taken will be implemented at their various local government level.
” As TCI/Devcom been a committed partner to Jigawa state government on reproductive health, at our own level we will continue to join hands with you to improve the sector particularly your area of intervention ” Aminu stated
