The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has called on Nigerians to embrace compassion, unity, and mutual support, while urging leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare and security of the people.
The 15th Emir made the remarks at his Nasarawa Palace shortly after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers in Kano.
Emir Bayero emphasized the need for citizens to show kindness and love towards one another, noting that such values are essential for peaceful coexistence and societal progress.
He also called on the federal, state, and local governments to intensify efforts toward safeguarding the lives, health, and property of the people, stressing that leadership is a trust bestowed by God that must be handled with responsibility and accountability.
The Emir highlighted the current economic challenges facing many Nigerians, urging leaders to focus on the most pressing needs of the people and take practical steps to address them.
He offered prayers for leaders across the country, asking God to grant them the wisdom and ability to govern with justice and fairness.
The royal father encouraged citizens to continue praying for their leaders and to maintain goodwill and positive expectations toward those in authority.
Emir Bayero expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, members of the National Assembly, and representatives at both federal and state levels for their support to citizens during the Ramadan period. He urged them to sustain such efforts beyond the holy month.
He also commended Islamic scholars and clerics for their prayers for peace and prosperity, as well as wealthy individuals and business communities for their contributions during Ramadan. He expressed hope that the availability and affordability of food and essential commodities would continue to improve.
The Emir concluded by extending Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the Kano State Governor, government officials, and the entire Muslim community, praying for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
