The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security arrangements ahead of the 2026 Easter celebrations, pledging to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive period across the state.
In a statement issued , the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Kano State and across Nigeria, acknowledging the significance of the celebration while reaffirming the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
The Police Command said it has deployed personnel to churches, event centres, and other strategic locations to forestall any security breach, adding that proactive measures have been put in place to guarantee public safety throughout the celebration.
The Commissioner further directed Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and other operational units to intensify surveillance, maintain vigilance, and ensure effective policing during the period.
The Command also urged residents to remain security conscious, report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, and make use of emergency contact lines or the “NPF Rescue Me” application, while wishing Christians a joyous and peaceful Easter celebration.
