The state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has commenced an operational tour of selected private guard companies in the state to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations guiding their operations.

The exercise, which covered five private security firms including Pama Global Security, Izahaf Security, Hydra Guards, Bye Security Company, and Prihamoh Security Guards Company, is part of the Corps’ mandate to monitor, regulate, and supervise the activities of Private Guard Companies nationwide.

Commandant Agalama said the tour was aimed at strengthening operational standards, improving professionalism, and ensuring that all licensed companies strictly adhere to laid down guidelines. He noted that the initiative reflects the Corps’ commitment to sanitising the private security sector.

During the visits, the Commandant inspected operational facilities, personnel records, training procedures, and licensing documents of the companies to verify their compliance with registration and renewal requirements. He warned against non-compliance, unprofessional conduct, and illegal operations, stressing that unregistered firms and quacks would be prosecuted.

He further advised operators to properly vet and train their personnel, maintain accurate records, and operate within the law, adding that any company found wanting would face appropriate sanctions.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that private guard companies complement national security efforts and contribute to the protection of lives and property in Kano State.
