The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone One Headquarters, Kano, Garba Ahmed, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Kano and Jigawa States on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Hussaini, on behalf of the AIG, the police authority assured residents of adequate security arrangements put in place across the Zone to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration.
The statement noted that commands under Zone One have been strategically mobilised to safeguard lives and property during the festivities.
The AIG urged residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious, emphasizing the importance of timely reporting of any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.
He also called on parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and wards throughout the celebration period to prevent any untoward incidents.
Motorists were equally advised to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations, avoid reckless driving, and cooperate fully with law enforcement officers deployed across major routes to prevent road traffic accidents often associated with festive periods.
Reiterating the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining law and order, the AIG assured citizens of continued efforts to ensure their safety before, during, and after the Eid celebrations.
He further wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and crime-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
