A Federal Commissioner representing Kaduna State at the National Population Commission, Hajiya Sa’adatu Dogonbauchi, has empowered hundreds of beneficiaries with sewing machines and popcorn-making machines as part of efforts to support vulnerable and less-privileged members of society.
Hajiya Dogonbauchi, who is also the founder of the Sa’a Dogonbauchi Foundation, disclosed during the presentation ceremony that she had been using part of her monthly salaries to fund empowerment programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
According to her, assisting the less privileged has always been a personal commitment, particularly for people who support the policies and programmes of the Kaduna State Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She explained that the initiative was not the first undertaken by her foundation, noting that several individuals had benefited from previous empowerment programmes designed to promote economic independence and self-reliance among members of the community.
The commissioner urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the machines to build sustainable sources of income and contribute meaningfully to the development of their families and communities.
She further revealed that those who received sewing machines would also be provided with additional designing machines to help improve their tailoring skills and expand their businesses.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke in separate interviews, expressed appreciation to the commissioner for the support, describing the gesture as timely and life-changing.
They said the equipment would enable them to start or expand small businesses and improve their standard of living.
