A political group has launched support for Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, amid spreading speculation that the governor might defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing Newsmen at the Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bauchi, the leader of the Group, Mohammed Maiwada Bello, said that the governor’s landmark achievements in the state deserve their support and loyalty.
Mohammad Maiwada said although the Governor has not publicly denied the defection rumours but a political support group, ‘The Kaura Force’ has been launched to express solidarity to the governor.
According to him, Bala Mohammed is widely recognised as a tested statesman, experienced administrator, and courageous voice for democratic accountability in Nigeria.
He added that under the administration of Mohammed, the State has transitioned from years of limited development into a period defined by renewed progress, stability, and growing national recognition.
The leader of the group emphasized that Bala Muhammad administration reflects the diversity of Bauchi State and the broader Nigerian federation, bringing together professionals and technocrats from different ethnic groups and regions to serve based on merit and competence.
“KAURA FORCE is not merely a political platform. It is a broad-based citizens’ movement bringing together youths, professionals, community leaders, civil society advocates, and grassroots supporters who are committed to protecting the developmental progress achieved in Bauchi State and strengthening democratic engagement across Nigeria”
They reaffirmed that through consistent engagement with leaders of Islamic, Christian, and traditional faith communities, Governor Bala Mohammed has strengthened the culture of tolerance and unity that defines Bauchi State.
Muhammad Maiwada Bello said the State has always been known for peace, tolerance, and unity noting that this values must continue to guide the group political discourse and collective actions.
