No fewer than 1,500 registered support groups under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups Council have endorsed the Renewed Hope Network (TRN), a political mobilisation platform championed by Abdulaziz Yari, ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement comes as Nigerians await the lifting of the ban on political campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Deputy Director-General of the APC Support Groups Council, AK Peters, said the decision followed a strategic meeting with the technical team of the Renewed Hope Network.
He noted that the platform, described as a Special Purpose Vehicle, is designed to drive grassroots mobilisation nationwide in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
According to Peters, the meeting featured key figures within the network, including Okpokwu Ogenyi, a former Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Civil Society and Support Groups, and Tunji John Asaolu, described as an international diplomat.
He expressed confidence in what he called the “growing nationwide momentum” of the Renewed Hope Network, adding that its acceptance among Nigerians was “unprecedented.”
The TRN, powered by Senator Yari, who represents Zamfara West Senatorial District, is positioning itself as a major grassroots mobilisation platform within the APC ahead of the next general elections.
Peters disclosed that, as part of its early strategy, the network has commenced the mobilisation of polling unit canvassers across the country, a move aimed at strengthening voter engagement structures ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential poll.
“The TRN is committed to building the most formidable grassroots political movement in support of the President within a short time, reaching every corner of the country,” he said.
He added that out of over 3,500 registered APC support groups, 1,500 had already aligned with the Renewed Hope Network, while projections indicate that an additional 2,000 groups may join before the Easter period.
Peters further emphasised that the leadership of Senator Yari has provided the direction needed to consolidate grassroots mobilisation efforts within the ruling party.
He maintained that the APC Support Groups Council would spare no effort in rallying support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition, expressing optimism that the President would be sworn in for another term on May 29, 2027.
Political observers say the endorsement signals early realignments and strategic positioning within the APC, as stakeholders begin to prepare for what is expected to be a highly competitive electoral cycle.
