Police Week: Akwa Ibom Command Lauds Gov. Umo Eno’s Support for Security Agencies

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has commended Governor Umo Eno for his sustained and unwavering support to security agencies, describing his contributions as pivotal to the maintenance of peace and the fight against crime in the state.
In a statement issued as part of activities marking the ongoing Police Week celebration, the Command expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s commitment to strengthening the operations of the Nigeria Police Force and other security outfits.
The police noted that the relative peace and improved security situation across Akwa Ibom State are largely attributable to the governor’s proactive leadership and strategic investments in security infrastructure.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, highlighted several landmark interventions by the state government, including the construction of internal road networks within the Police Headquarters, the establishment of a modern Command and Control Centre, and the ongoing development of the Counter Terrorism Unit Barracks.
He said these projects have significantly enhanced operational efficiency, coordination, and rapid response capabilities of security personnel.
According to the Command, the consistent provision of logistics such as fuelling of patrol vehicles, alongside welfare-focused initiatives, has boosted the morale of officers and men, enabling them to perform their duties with renewed professionalism and dedication.
The police leadership stressed that such support has strengthened collaborative policing efforts and improved public confidence in security institutions.
Reaffirming its commitment during the Police Week celebration, the Command assured residents of its resolve to intensify intelligence-led policing, aggressive crime-fighting strategies, and community engagement across all parts of the state.
It also urged members of the public to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid crime prevention.
The Command reiterated its dedication to safeguarding lives and property, pledging to build on the existing synergy with the state government to ensure lasting peace and security in Akwa Ibom.
