The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, has commended officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, sister security agencies, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and residents of the state for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the APC primaries held across Akwa Ibom State.
CP Azare noted with satisfaction the high level of maturity, cooperation, and law-abiding behaviour displayed by party members, supporters, youths, and other residents throughout the exercise, describing it as a positive sign of democratic responsibility.
He also praised the professionalism, resilience, and effective deployment of security personnel, whose coordinated operations ensured adequate security coverage and prevented any breakdown of law and order during the primaries.
The Police Commissioner further applauded the synergy among security agencies in the state, stating that their collaboration contributed significantly to the peaceful atmosphere recorded during the exercise.
He said the successful conduct of the primaries reflects the commitment of the people of Akwa Ibom State to peace, democratic values, and development.
However, CP Azare warned political actors, supporters, and members of the public to sustain the peaceful conduct, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law during future political activities.
He stressed that the command will not tolerate any act of violence, intimidation, thuggery, or disruption of public peace, adding that anyone found culpable will be dealt with decisively according to the law.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command to ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for all residents and democratic processes in the state.
