The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has called on Private Guard Companies (PGCs) operating in the state to embrace continuous capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving professionalism and operational efficiency within the private security sector.
The State Commandant of the Corps in Kano, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, made the call while addressing operatives of various Private Guard Companies at the Command Headquarters following the successful completion of a training programme organized for personnel drawn from different private security outfits across the state.
Commandant Agalama emphasized the importance of regular training for security personnel, stressing that continuous professional development remains essential in enhancing service delivery, discipline, and overall operational effectiveness in the security industry.
According to him, the training programme was specifically designed to sharpen the knowledge, competence, and skills of participants, while also making them mentally alert, proactive, and better prepared to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
He explained that well-trained operatives play a critical role in supporting effective security management and safeguarding lives and property, adding that improved performance by security personnel would also enhance the reputation and business prospects of their respective companies.
The Commandant further noted that the NSCDC remains committed to strengthening standards within the private security sector in Kano State through regular supervision, monitoring, and support for licensed security operators.

He commended participants for their discipline, dedication, and active participation throughout the training exercise, describing their commitment as a positive step toward promoting professionalism among private security personnel in the state.
The training exercise recorded the participation of more than one hundred and ten operatives drawn from twelve private guard companies operating in Kano State. Certificates of attendance were presented to participants at the end of the programme after they successfully underwent intensive parade drills and a series of lectures on security operations and ethics.
The initiative was organized by the Department of Private Guard Companies of the NSCDC Kano State Command in collaboration with the Kano State chapter of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN).
The statement was signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, on behalf of the State Command.
