President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ali M. Ali, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued from the State House in Abuja on Sunday, the President described Ali as a distinguished journalist and administrator whose vast experience, professional skills and extensive network have contributed significantly to strengthening the mandate of the nation’s foremost news agency.
Tinubu commended the NAN chief executive for his efforts in bridging the gap between citizens, the private sector and government through strategic coverage of national and international events, as well as promoting specialised reporting on critical sectors and government programmes.
The President noted that under Ali’s leadership, NAN has maintained consistency in news gathering, information dissemination and collaboration with multilateral institutions, foreign news agencies and media platforms.
According to Tinubu, these efforts have further enhanced Nigeria’s image globally and helped curb the spread of fake news, particularly through digital and online engagement.
“I commend Ali, the management and staff of the agency for sustaining the mandate of Africa’s leading news agency,” the President said.
As Ali marks his diamond jubilee, Tinubu prayed for continued good health, strength and wisdom for the media executive to render more years of meritorious service to the nation.
The congratulatory message was issued through the State House Media Centre, Abuja.
