In a demonstration of compassionate leadership and commitment to improving healthcare delivery, the Wife of the Governor of Jigawa State, Her Excellency Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, has continued to champion initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens. Her latest intervention, a medical outreach programme held in Galamawa Town, Dutse Local Government Area, provided hundreds of residents with access to free healthcare services, reinforcing her commitment to promoting healthy communities across the state.

The outreach, organised by the Federal University Dutse Medical Students’ Association (FUDUMSA) as part of its Health Week 2026, brought together volunteer doctors, medical students, nurses and other healthcare professionals to offer free medical consultations, health screening, treatment, and public health education. The initiative focused on preventive healthcare while ensuring that vulnerable members of the community received quality medical attention at no cost.

Speaking through representatives, H.E. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi reiterated that access to quality healthcare remains a fundamental right of every citizen. She commended the medical students for complementing government efforts in strengthening primary healthcare delivery and urged young healthcare professionals to embrace community service as a vital part of their careers. She noted that healthcare interventions at the grassroots are essential for reducing preventable diseases and improving the overall well-being of the people.

Residents of Galamawa expressed appreciation for the outreach, describing it as timely and impactful. Beneficiaries received medical examinations, essential medications, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, health counselling, and referrals for further treatment where necessary. Community leaders praised the initiative, saying it demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of the people and encouraged more partnerships between government institutions, professional bodies, and academic communities.

The medical outreach reflects the growing role of public-private and institutional collaboration in expanding healthcare access across Jigawa State. Beyond providing immediate medical care, the programme highlighted the importance of preventive medicine, community engagement, and volunteerism. For many residents, the event was more than a health campaign—it was a symbol of hope, compassion, and a shared commitment to building a healthier Jigawa under the humanitarian leadership of Her Excellency Dr. Amina Umar Namadi.
