The endorsement was announced during a meeting between the council, led by Khalifa Sheikh Sani Shehi Mai Hula, and the governor at the Government House in Kano, where the Islamic body commended Yusuf’s leadership and commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
Speaking on behalf of the council, the leadership described the governor as a leader who had demonstrated fairness, accountability and dedication to the development of the state, urging residents to continue supporting his administration.
Responding, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as a call to redouble his efforts in delivering more democratic dividends to the people of Kano. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing people-oriented programmes and projects across the state.
The endorsement adds to a series of recent declarations of support from groups and stakeholders backing Yusuf’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
