Ahmad Madori Mourns Hamza Darma, Describes Death as Colossal Loss

Fourth Republic Senator and frontline politician, Ambassador Ahmad Mallam Madori, has described the death of veteran Kano politician, Alhaji Hamza Usman Darma, as a colossal loss to Kano State and Nigeria.

Darma, who died in Kano in August 2026 at the age of 76 after a brief illness, was a prominent politician, elder statesman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a condolence message, Madori, who is also Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, described the deceased as a courageous politician, exceptional orator, patriot and statesman whose contributions to public life would remain memorable.

He particularly recalled Darma’s remarkable ability to command the attention of large audiences during political rallies and public lectures, saying his powerful voice and oratory often earned him standing ovations.

According to Madori, the late politician possessed a remarkable natural voice that enabled him to address large gatherings without the need for a microphone.

Madori further described Darma as a man of integrity who was committed to the development of his community and the political progress of the country.

The late Darma was also a former Sharia Court Judge and contributed to religious and community affairs in Kano. He was a dedicated member of the APC progressive movement and a strong supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

His death has attracted condolences from political leaders, government officials and members of the public, with tributes pouring in from across Kano State and beyond.

Madori prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljanna Firdaus and give his family, friends and political associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
