City Boy Movement Targets 10m Votes for Tinubu in 2027

The City Boy Movement has said it is targeting 10 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The Director-General of the movement, Mr Oluwatosin Shoga, stated this in Kano at a two-day town hall meeting and retreat organised for its members and youth leaders in the state.

Shoga said the retreat was aimed at strengthening the movement’s grassroots structures and equipping its members with strategies to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said the president had demonstrated commitment to the development of the country through various policies and programmes introduced by his administration.

The Director-General urged members of the movement to intensify grassroots mobilisation, saying they were expected to register more than 500,000 members by the end of September.

He called on the state and local government structures to work collectively to expand the movement’s membership base and mobilise eligible voters across communities.

Also speaking, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr Mariya Bunkure, described the engagement as timely, stressing the importance of youth participation in political activities.

Bunkure congratulated the newly inaugurated leaders and members of the movement, urging them to remain committed to their responsibilities and contribute positively to the political development of their communities.

Earlier, the Kano State Director of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, said the retreat was focused on state leadership, grassroots mobilisation and strategy sessions.

Ja’oji said the programme provided an opportunity for leaders, zonal coordinators, local government officials and members to review their structures, identify challenges and develop practical strategies for effective grassroots mobilisation.

He urged members to demonstrate discipline, unity and commitment, stressing that leadership was not merely about occupying positions but about responsibility, service and coordination.

The state director expressed appreciation to the national executives of the movement, participants and other stakeholders for their support towards the success of the two-day engagement.

The retreat, held at Amani Event Centre, Kano, also featured the inauguration of leaders and members of the movement’s Kano State structures.
