The Jigawa State Hisbah Board says it has intensified efforts to strengthen the operational capacity, professionalism and service delivery of its personnel across the state.
The Commander General of the Board, Dr. Muhammad Fa’iz Bashir Haruna, said the initiative was aimed at improving the effectiveness of Hisbah personnel in carrying out their responsibilities.
In a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Dauda Muhammad Hadejia, the Gumel Divisional Hisbah Command recently organised its monthly enlightenment lecture for personnel, focusing on basic first aid and emergency response during patrol operations.
The training was designed to equip operatives with practical skills to provide immediate assistance to victims of road traffic accidents and other emergencies pending the arrival of professional medical personnel.
The participants commended the initiative, describing it as an important step towards improving their professional competence and preparedness to serve the public.
Similarly, the Assistant Commander General of Gumel Hisbah Zonal Command, Malam Surajo Adam, held a meeting with divisional officers across the zone to strengthen supervision, operational efficiency and effective discharge of responsibilities.
In another development, the Maigatari Hisbah Divisional Office counselled three young girls suspected of engaging in unlawful activities in a rented apartment in Maigatari town.
The counselling was aimed at guiding the girls towards responsible conduct and discouraging activities considered contrary to societal values and moral standards.
The Assistant Commander General of Hadejia Hisbah Zonal Command also led a delegation on an advocacy visit to heads of security agencies in the zone to strengthen cooperation and promote peaceful coexistence, decency and security.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to capacity development, community engagement, moral guidance and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to promote peace and security across Jigawa.
It said the activities were in line with the vision and directives of the Commander General to build a more effective, responsive and service-oriented Hisbah institution.
