The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has completed the remittance of Hajj fares for the state’s 3,500 intending pilgrims to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during a press briefing in Kano, saying preparations were underway to commence visa processing for the intending pilgrims.
Matawalle said the Board was also making efforts to secure accommodation for the pilgrims close to the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to minimise transportation difficulties and facilitate their movement for prayers and other religious activities.
He said the arrangement was part of measures to improve pilgrims’ welfare and ensure a smooth and comfortable Hajj exercise.
The Director-General further disclosed that the Board planned to conduct pilgrims’ screening in their respective local government areas to reduce the burden of travelling to distant locations.
According to him, the initiative will minimise transportation costs, save time and make the screening process more accessible to intending pilgrims.
He urged the intending pilgrims to comply with the Board’s directives and ensure that all necessary documents were completed and submitted promptly to facilitate the visa processing and other preparations for the 2027 Hajj.
