The League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse (LESPADA) has participated in a youth dialogue aimed at promoting peaceful participation and credible elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The dialogue, held on Monday, Nov. 2, was organised by the Kano State Police Command in partnership with the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) and the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF).
The event, themed “Youth, Peace and Credible 2027 Elections,” brought together young people and key stakeholders to discuss peaceful political participation, tolerance, electoral violence prevention and responsible citizenship.
Participants also examined the role of youths in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring peaceful electoral processes.
LESPADA, in a statement, emphasised that peace and security were essential for community development and the success of efforts to combat drug abuse and other social vices.
The organisation commended the Kano State Police Command, YOSPIS and AMGF for organising the dialogue, describing it as a timely initiative ahead of the 2027 elections.
It reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible youth engagement, peacebuilding and a safer society.
The organisation called for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to ensure peaceful and credible elections in the country.
