The National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Hon. Anani Hamisu Mohammed, has called on residents of Plateau State to embrace peace, unity and collective progress as Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival marking the end of Ramadan.

In his Eid message, Mohammed, who is also the Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Area, extended warm greetings to Muslims across the state and the country, describing the occasion as a time for spiritual renewal, reflection and strengthened devotion to the teachings of Islam.

He urged citizens to uphold the virtues of compassion, forgiveness, patience and generosity cultivated during the holy month.

The ALGON spokesman emphasized the need for residents to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond family circles by fostering harmonious relationships with friends, neighbours and the wider community. According to him, such values are essential in building a peaceful and prosperous society.

Mohammed also commended the leadership of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for what he described as a strong commitment to constitutional governance, particularly in advancing local government autonomy and rural development.

He noted that ongoing infrastructural projects and provision of basic amenities have positioned the state as a model for good governance and sustainable development.

He further pledged the continued support and cooperation of local government authorities under ALGON towards the governor’s administration, stressing that collaboration remains key to achieving economic growth, peace and security in the state. Mohammed highlighted the importance of inclusive governance and ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity, including banditry and terrorism, which he said have renewed hope among citizens.

While expressing optimism about the future of Plateau State, the ALGON official urged residents to use the Eid celebration as an opportunity to promote reconciliation and mutual understanding. He called on citizens to set aside differences and work collectively towards building a stable environment where all can thrive.

Mohammed concluded his message by wishing Muslims a joyous celebration, urging them to remain steadfast in promoting peace and unity in their communities.

“Eid Mubarak,” he said.
