Kano Government Takes Over Medical Care of Woman Who Delivered Quintuplets

The Kano State Government has assumed responsibility for the medical care of a nursing mother, Hafsatu Yusuf, who recently delivered five babies at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Kano State Ministry of Health and made available to journalists.
The statement noted that the intervention forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare services, particularly in the area of maternal and child health.
According to the ministry, the initiative is aimed at ensuring improved care for pregnant women and newborns, while also contributing to the reduction of maternal and infant mortality rates across the state.
The husband of the woman, Malam Salisu Nufi’u, a commercial tricycle rider, expressed profound appreciation to the government for the gesture.
He described the support as timely, noting that it came at a moment when the family was in dire need of assistance.
The report further revealed that both the mother and her quintuplets are currently receiving specialized medical attention from doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure their well-being.
Health officials reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining interventions that support vulnerable families and improve access to quality healthcare services in Kano State.
