A chieftain of the APC and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has declared his interest to run for President in 2023.
He made his declaration in Abuja while speaking with State House correspondents, after his close door meeting with President Buhari

Asiwaju Tinubu disclosed that becoming Nigeria’s President had been his life-long ambition, which he would pursue to achieve.
On whether he is concerned about the rumoured show of interest by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State to the Presidential race, Senator Tinubu stressed that he only knew about his own ambition.
He said his aim was to build on the foundation laid by President Buhari to better the well-being of Nigerians.
Asiwaju Tinubu specifically mentioned the success of the President’s infrastructure drive, which had begun to ease the problems associated with the sub-sector.
