Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has vowed to Accord all the needed support to Ginger farmers in the state, aimed at boosting production, processing, and marketing of Ginger.
The Governor stated this during the Inauguration of the executive of Northwestern States Chapters of National Ginger producers, processors, and marketers Association of Nigeria (NGPPMA) Held in Kano.
Ganduje who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce Barrister Ibrahim Mukhtar said the government had provided enabling environment for farmers in kano.
He said the modern roads network that was provided in kano had paved the way for marketers of ginger in the state to market their products with ease, stressing that kano was one of the major ginger marketing states in Nigeria.
“inland dry Port would soon come on board in kano, and this is an opportunity for our business people to import and export their products”
In a remark, the National President of Ginger Association Alhaji Maika Adamu Suleiman said the Association was working tirelessly in Ensuring that the morale of ginger farmers was boosted geared towards ensuring that ginger farming and processing Achieved Greater Heights.

He appealed to governments at all levels to support ginger farmers across the nation, to boost the economy.
Earlier the newly inaugurated chairman of the Association Abubakar Abdullahi Mansur said they will expedite Action in boosting Ginger production in the kano state.
He solicited the support of the kano state government to provide them with hectares of land which will be used in cultivating Ginger.
During the event executives, members of the Association from the Northwest zone were inaugurated.
