The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has extended his strategic engagement tour to officers and men of the Wudil Area Command as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen discipline and deepen public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

Bakori, who addressed personnel of the command on Tuesday, said the exercise was in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at entrenching intelligence-led policing, protecting fundamental human rights and improving service delivery across all police formations in the country.

The commissioner commended officers for their commitment to crime prevention and maintenance of public order, urging them to uphold professionalism, vigilance and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He directed personnel to treat members of the public with courtesy, respond promptly to distress calls, ensure accountable use of force and sustain visible policing through patrols and targeted operations.

Bakori also reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for corruption, extortion and other forms of misconduct, warning that any officer found engaging in unprofessional behaviour would face appropriate sanctions.

He stressed the need for officers to operate strictly within the law and respect the rights of citizens at all times.
On welfare and institutional reforms, the commissioner briefed officers on ongoing initiatives championed by the IGP, including improved welfare packages, enhanced insurance coverage and better retirement benefits designed to boost morale and productivity.

He noted that residents of Kano State had continued to support the police and urged officers to reciprocate through quality, selfless and community-oriented service.

Speaking on behalf of the officers and men of the area command, the Area Commander, Hussaini Yalwa Mohammed, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a source of motivation.

He pledged the command’s loyalty and cooperation, assuring the commissioner of their commitment to the directives and vision of the Nigeria Police Force in Kano State.
