Gov. Yusuf felicitates Kano residents on Takutaha Maulud

Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of the traditional Takutaha celebration marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano.

 

 

Yusuf described Takutaha as a significant religious and cultural tradition that had continued to unite the people of Kano in expressing their love for the Prophet and reflecting on his exemplary life and teachings.

He said the event formed an important part of Kano’s rich Islamic heritage, urging Muslims to use the occasion to renew their commitment to the Prophet’s teachings on peace, compassion, tolerance, justice and peaceful coexistence.

The governor also called on residents to sustain the spirit of unity and brotherhood demonstrated during the celebration, stressing that peace and mutual understanding were essential for the continued development of the state.

Yusuf commended traditional rulers, Islamic scholars, community leaders and organisers for preserving Kano’s religious and cultural heritage.

 

He assured that his administration would continue to support initiatives promoting the state’s history, culture and religious values, while praying Allah to bless Kano with peace, stability and prosperity.
