The Senator representing Kano North , Barau I. Jibrin has given reasons for obtaining Senatorial form and expression of interest and jettison his governorship ambition.
Jibrin who obtained the form on Monday told Solacebase that many notable Nigerians and politicians prevailed on him to go back to the Senate so as to bring to bear his wealth of experience.
Although all along, I have the ambition of contesting for the governorship seat in 2023 but I was prevailed upon by many Nigerians that the lawmaking arm of the federation needs the experience of people like me that was at the lower chamber and the upper chamber twice,’’ Barau said.
He said despite all challenges he is very sure of wining the senatorial seat as the electorates were also very happy when they heard that he was going back to the Senate to continue the good work he started.
