Some residents in Zaria have called on Kaduna electricity distribution company to come to their aide by restoring power supply l in their areas.
our correspondent in Zaria reports that areas like Gwargwaje , Rimin Danza in Zaria city among others were have been in darkness for over three month.
Investigation revealed that in Rimin Danza the office of KEDCO took away their transformer With intention to repair but more than three month the official were yet to return the transformer.
Another source explained that the KEDCO appealed to the residents to raise fund of about eight hundred thousand naira for the repairs of their transformer.
Speaking under anonymity a concerned citizen, stressed the need for KEDCO official to come to their aid and restore the electricity supply.
Also in gwargwaje area the chairman gwargwaje development association ALHAJI Mustafah Jumare, explained that they contributed over two million naira for the repair of their transformer but still they do not have power supply.
He pointed out that a new transformer donated from a political office holder was vandalized by some hoodlums who took away some valuable cables.
Alhaji Mustafah Jumare said the residents visited KEDCO office several times but no any positive respond from the official.
Investigation revealed that when ever communities and residents witness electrical faults connected to their transformers or electric connectivity the KEDCO officials directed residents to raised fund before the officials can repair their transformers.
When contacted the KEDCO public relation officer headquarter Kaduna said he would find out and take neccessary step to repair the transformers .
