Kaduna State Government Unveils Action Plan for Peace and Security

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has launched an action plan to ensure peaceful living in the state, focusing on women and youth. 

This strategic roadmap was announced during the International Peace Day celebration, themed “Cultivating the Culture of Peace” [

Governor Sani emphasized his commitment to protecting citizens’ rights, particularly women and girls in conflict situations.

 He urged the people of Kaduna to unite and work together towards making peace a reality, fostering cultural sustainability, growth, and development.

Key Highlights of the Action Plan: includes 

– _Protection of Citizens’ Rights_: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens, especially women and girls.

– _Collaboration with Stakeholders_: Working with relevant organizations to promote peace.

– _Conflict Prevention Measures_: Utilizing early warning and response systems to resolve disputes.

– _Peace Building Initiatives_: Supporting organizations that promote peace and harmony.

The Kaduna State government has also unveiled three strategic policy documents:

– _Kaduna State Action Plan on Youths, Peace and Security_

– _Kaduna State Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security_

– _Kaduna State Pathway to Sustainable Peace and Social Harmony_ ¹

These policies aim to provide platforms for continuous consultations, interfaith dialogues, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

– Interfaith Mediation Center (IMC)

– Aid Foundation ¹

The International Peace Day celebration featured presentations from representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jama’atul Nasri Islam (JNI), and traditional leaders.
