As the New Year 2026 dawns, the First Lady of Jigawa State, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi ,has extended warm congratulations to Governor Umar Namadi, commending his purposeful and people-centred leadership that has continued to steer the state to greater heights across critical sectors of development.
In her New Year message, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi described Governor Namadi’s administration as one driven by vision, compassion and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
She noted that despite prevailing economic challenges nationwide, Jigawa State has recorded remarkable progress under his leadership, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development and social empowerment.
The First Lady highlighted education as a cornerstone of the administration’s achievements, praising the governor’s sustained investments in school infrastructure, teacher development and policies aimed at improving access to quality learning for children, especially the girl-child.
According to her, these interventions are laying a solid foundation for human capital development and securing a brighter future for the next generation of Jigawa citizens.
On healthcare, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi applauded the governor’s efforts to strengthen the health system through the upgrade of health facilities, improved maternal and child healthcare services, and increased access to essential medical care across urban and rural communities.
She stressed that these initiatives have significantly enhanced the quality of life of women, children and vulnerable groups in the state.
The First Lady also acknowledged the visible transformation in infrastructure development, citing improved road networks, public facilities and rural connectivity as key drivers of economic growth and social inclusion.
She noted that such projects have eased the movement of people and goods, boosted local commerce and opened up new opportunities for communities across Jigawa State.
Equally commendable, she said, are the administration’s empowerment programmes targeted at youths and women, which have provided skills acquisition, financial support and livelihoods, thereby reducing poverty and fostering self-reliance.
Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi reaffirmed her support for policies that promote inclusive development and pledged to continue complementing the government’s efforts through advocacy and social initiatives focused on women and children.
As Jigawa State steps into the New Year 2026, the First Lady expressed optimism that Governor Namadi’s administration would sustain its development momentum.
She called on citizens to remain united, supportive and prayerful, emphasizing that collective responsibility and shared commitment are essential to building a more prosperous, healthy and educated Jigawa State.
