The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has registered 155,133 new voters in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Bauchi State.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, said this after monitoring the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV), on Saturday in Bauchi.
He said the new voters were registered under the first and second phases of the CVR exercise across 20 local government areas of the state.
The REC said the commission recorded a significant increase in the number of registered voters in the second of the exercise conducted from Dec. 15 to Dec. 21, 2025.
Ibrahim said that 2,276 Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) were collected; 12,491 updated and 7,690 reviewed, while 14,923 defaced, and 335 PWDs.
On register display, Ibrahim said the exercise would be conducted from April 29 to May 5, in all the 20 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the exercise will avail citizens opportunities to verify details of their information to correct detected errors.
He said it would also enable the citizens to make objections to deceased persons, aliens and under-age persons to be removed from the register.
Ibrahim urged those registered during the second phase of the exercise to report inaccuracies, to enhance integrity of the national register.
The REC accompanied by management staff and a monitoring team from INEC national headquarters inspected the ongoing display of the preliminary register of voters in Alkaleri, Bauchi and Ganjuwa LGAs.
