The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi, has called on the Muslim Ummah to embrace the spirit of charity and extend support to the needy as part of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.

The Emir made the call while delivering his Eid address at the Kofar Mata Eid Ground in Kano on the occasion of Eid al-Adha prayers.

He said acts of sacrifice, including the slaughtering of rams and other approved animals, are forms of Ibadah (worship) that must be carried out with sincerity and compassion.

According to him, those who are privileged to perform the sacrifice should ensure that portions of the meat are shared with less-privileged members of society.

Malam Muhammadu Sanusi emphasized that Eid al-Adha should strengthen the values of kindness, empathy, and social responsibility among Muslims.

He further urged the faithful to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence and unity across Nigeria, noting that harmony remains essential for national development.

The Emir also called on the public to pray for a prosperous rainy season to ensure a bountiful harvest for farmers across the country.

The Eid prayer was attended by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and several senior government officials, who joined thousands of worshippers at the historic Eid ground.
