Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has charged the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, to work diligently towards advancing the development of the state.
The governor gave the charge shortly after Garo took the oath of office at the Government House in Kano.
Yusuf said his administration remains committed to ensuring that the people of the state benefit from the dividends of democracy through impactful policies and programmes.
He urged the new deputy governor to bring his experience to bear in supporting government efforts aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
In his remarks, Garo pledged to contribute his quota to the growth and development of Kano State.
He expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve in the administration.
The ceremony was graced by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, former Kano governors, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, speaker Kano State House of Assembly Jibril Ismail Falgore among other dignitaries and party stakeholders.
