The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of pilgrims from the state.
The Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, made this known while receiving the Commander of the 3 Brigade, Kano, A.M. Tukur, during a courtesy visit to the Board’s office.
Matawalle said that since assuming office, he has prioritised building strong relationships with security agencies to ensure adequate protection for pilgrims before, during and after pilgrimage activities.
He noted that the Board remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all intending pilgrims from Kano State.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Tukur said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Pilgrims Welfare Board in the state.
In a related development, the Director General also received members of the All Progressives Congress from Kankarofi Ward in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, where he presented them with Federal Government forms intended to facilitate assistance and support.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the APC Ward Chairman of Kankarofi, Sha’aibu Gambo, alongside the Chairman of Mai Taimako Organization, Nura Bako, commended the Director General for his support and leadership.
Similarly, the Abba/Tinubu Support Organization, led by Sa’ad Sulaiman Gezawa, also paid a courtesy visit to the Board.
