A political aspirant in jigawa State DIG Hussein Gumel RTD has dismissed circulating rumours suggesting his emergence as a consensus candidate, stating that no official communication has been made to him regarding such development.
In a message addressed to his supporters, Gumel said he had seen the speculations but urged the public to disregard unverified information.
He called on supporters to remain calm, united and respectful, stressing that discipline and focus have remained the strength of his political base.
DIG Gumel RTD noted that the process of selecting a consensus candidate rests with the party leadership and the state governor, adding that stakeholders should await an official announcement.
He explained that whoever emerges as the party’s consensus candidate would be formally presented with a nomination form in line with established procedures.
The aspirant assured supporters that he would personally communicate any official development at the appropriate time.
He also expressed appreciation for the continued support and prayers from his followers.
