Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested three suspects in connection with alleged vandalism and tricycle theft in different parts of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on May 7, 2026, identifying two of the suspects as Adamu Ibrahim, 25, and Abba Ado, 24, both residents of Roba in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the duo were apprehended shortly after allegedly vandalising and stealing about 300 metres of aluminium conductor cables at Yunfawa village on April 28, 2026, at about 8:00 a.m., after climbing electric poles and removing cables belonging to Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO). They were intercepted by security operatives while attempting to cart the items away.
The NSCDC said the suspects later confessed to the offence during interrogation at the state headquarters, adding that one accomplice is currently at large.
Meanwhile operatives on routine patrol along Kofar Waika/Kofar Dawanau dual carriageway arrested an 18-year-old, Abdullahi Aminu, for alleged tricycle theft after he forcefully took a parked tricycle with a female passenger on board before being intercepted.
The Corps said the victim was rescued unhurt following a distress call, while all three suspects are currently in custody and will be prosecuted accordingly.
