Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has resolved the political disagreement between Senator Mohammed Sani Musa and former Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency, Barr. Bello Bawa Bwari, paving the way for Senator Musa to emerge as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Niger East Senatorial District in 2027.

The resolution followed a meeting at the Government House in Minna, attended by the governor, his deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba, APC National Vice Chairman for the North Central Zone Alh. Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, and APC State Chairman Alh. Aminu Musa Bobi.

Chairing the meeting, Governor Bago said the agreement was reached to ensure peace, political stability and deeper internal democracy within the APC in Niger State.

He described the outcome as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to dialogue and democratic principles in resolving party differences amicably.

The governor added that the resolution would strengthen the party’s unity and improve its chances of success in the 2027 general elections.

Both aspirants accepted the consensus arrangement, bringing to an end weeks of contention over the party’s ticket for Niger East.
