The Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Dr Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kano.

Abdulsalam said Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf directed the ministry to conduct an on-the-spot assessment in all the 44 local government areas to identify the immediate needs of rural communities and develop a strategic blueprint for addressing them over the next five years.

According to him, the assessment involved extensive consultations with traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that the development plan reflects the priorities and aspirations of the people.

“The ministry engaged traditional institutions and community leaders across the 44 local government areas and documented their needs to ensure proper planning and implementation of development projects,” he said.

The commissioner explained that the ministry subsequently collaborated with relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Water Resources, the Kano State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), and other stakeholders to produce a comprehensive master plan.

He said the blueprint would serve as a guide for the execution of infrastructure and community development projects based on the specific needs of each local government area.

Abdulsalam further disclosed that Gov. Yusuf would soon inaugurate a committee to oversee the effective implementation of the five-year development blueprint across the state.
