Headline: Troops Kill ISWAP Cameraman, Uncover Foreign Terrorist Trainers in Borno

Nigerian troops have neutralised an ISWAP cameraman during ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Borno State, while uncovering the presence of foreign terrorist trainers and a medical doctor believed to be providing support to the insurgent group.

Military sources said the operation, conducted in parts of the Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region, dealt a major blow to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), disrupting its media and operational activities.

According to the sources, intelligence gathered during the operation revealed that the terrorist group had engaged foreign trainers to provide specialised combat instruction, while a foreign doctor was allegedly offering medical services to injured fighters within the insurgents’ camps.

The troops also recovered arms, ammunition, communication equipment and other items during the operation, while continuing clearance missions to dismantle remaining terrorist hideouts in the area.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the offensive against terrorists and urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to enhance ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the North-East.
