Police to Arraign Man Over Alleged Fake Presidency Agency

The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign one Adeniyi Adeyemi before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday over his alleged involvement in operating a fake agency under the Presidency.

Adeyemi is expected to be charged alongside two others on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, impersonation and other related offences.

According to police investigations, the suspect allegedly presented himself as the Director-General of a fictitious organisation known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and reportedly operated the organisation from the Federal Secretariat in Abuja before his arrest.

Court documents indicate that the prosecution will call several witnesses, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and tender documents allegedly used in the operation of the fake agency, including a purported letter of appointment and correspondence addressed to government ministries.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the activities of the alleged fake organisation.

The President also directed the anti-corruption agency to conclude its investigation and submit its findings within 30 days.
